Walthamstow - really need your help to ensure our European neighbours and friends in Walthamstow have their say in the forthcoming European elections on May 23rd (however they choose to vote!) EU citizens are able to vote in these elections BUT they have to declare they are not voting in any other poll around Europe - so if you are an EU citizen or know local residents who are keen to have their say on Brexit then this is what they need to do!
1. Register to vote by 7 May:
https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
2. Download and fill in an extra form:
https://www.yourvotematters.co.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0011/255197/EU-citizen-European-Parliament-voter-registration-form-English.pdf
3. Send form to Electoral Registration Office at:
https://www.gov.uk/get-on-electoral-register
Have asked Waltham Forest Council about what action they are taking on this too to make sure everyone affected knows about it, but given the deadlines involved would appreciate residents cutting and pasting this info and sharing on their timeline, or tagging their neighbours, friends and family this affects to share this information widely and ensure they have the franchise! Thank you!
ps. Please note if you are a resident of the UK, Republic of Ireland, Malta or Cyprus, you are eligible to register to vote at all UK elections and so do not need to use the second form- but you still need to make sure you're registered to vote!
