Today’s poem was written for #worldbeeday - a celebration of the famously buzzy insect which occurs on this day every year.
It’s not only the knees of a bee which are so wonderful, but the whole package of one: they’re Earth’s top pollinators and the vast majority of the plants we need for food rely on them going about their pollinating business. In other words, without them, we’re done for – and that’s why the decline in their population is alarming and we need to stop using pesky pesticides, grow more bee-friendly plants, and stop wrecking the planet in general.
