Today marks one year since the national lockdown started here in the UK. We have joined charity Marie Curie to celebrate a National Day Of Reflection honouring the over 500 people who died of Coronavirus in Waltham Forest and in support of those who are grieving.
This morning, the Mayor of Waltham Forest, Cllr Chris Robbins, commemorated the day by reading the emotional poem "I heard your voice in the wind today" as we joined him for a minute of silence at 12noon.
A tree is also being planted in memory of those who lost their lives to Coronavirus, featuring a plaque kindly donated by Chingford Mount Monumental Masons & Funeral Directors to honour the victims of Covid-19 in Waltham Forest.

💛 Tonight at 8pm, many of us will be shining a light in our doorway or window to remember someone who's died and show support to those going through a bereavement. We encourage everyone to join in and we will be lighting up the Assembly Hall in yellow to mark this occasion. 💛
