Walthamstow Wetlands

It's not all about ducks at Walthamstow Wetlands! This wonderful photo of a female peregrine falcon was taken yesterday by our community engagement volunteer Stephen Ayres. These are beautiful birds of prey and the fastest species of animal in the world. They have been living wild here at Walthamstow Wetlands for about a decade. The pylons may look a bit 'urban' but they provide essential habitats for our peregrines who need high structures from which to hunt.
